The Advantages of Liquid Screed

May 16, 2018

Liquid floor screed is designed for screed insulations for new flooring inside a newly built or refurbished building. This is ideal for commercial and domestic use and allows for an alternative to the traditional concrete, helping provide a smooth and even surface before the floor has even had a finish applied. This can be used with or without underfloor heating and can be un-bonded, bonded or floated.

Liquid screed is great due to its easy application. It’s designed to give a smooth even surface and doesn’t take long to dry. Due to its quick drying properties and easy application, this product created popular attraction for homeowners. The screed can be pumped out from a concrete pump without the need for lots of preparation. It’s important to note that the only preparation is ensuring that the floor is dried and that any cracks or holes are filled in.

As well as this, liquid screed takes a minimal time to install. Due to the use of flowing screeds we’re able to cover over 2000sqm per day whereas standard concrete can only cover 200sqm per day. As liquid screed can be applied through a concrete pump, it’s possible to cover larger areas of the floor compared to a small pump which would increase the install time.

Liquid screed provides an improved underground heating performance through its ability to increase the efficiency of the underfloor piping. Liquid screed helps to keep the floor at the correct and suitable temperature and withhold it. As well as this, liquid screed has a high amount of thermal conductivity, this means it will allow heat to be applied to the flooring much quicker. This will also help you save money on your energy bills.

Through the use of liquid screed, labour costs are reduced as it requires less manpower to get it fully installed.  This is also an efficient process as we have the state-of-the art technology needed to achieve the best finish.
